Door-to-door vans Serve hotels, offices, and residences throughout Los Angeles and Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Several operators accept major credit cards. Fares vary greatly and are subject to change. They range from approx $10 to $33 in the Greater LA area, with strong group discounts for several persons to/from the same address. Wait at orange "Shared-Ride Vans" sign on traffic island outside lower level. With reservation or operator name, van will be dispatched immediately by island agent. With destination only, dispatch will be notified. If van to your destination dispatched in last 5 min, agent will flag it down. If not, van will be dispatched from holding lot. Ride-share vans offer convenience compared to scheduled bus, cost saving compared to taxi in many cases. All public buses to downtown and elsewhere board at LAX Transit Center just outside airport adjacent to Lot C. Board free shuttle bus "C" at blue "LAX Shuttle 7 Airline Connections" sign on traffic island outside lower level, every 10 min 24 hrs a day. 7-min ride to transfer point. The center is served by MTA Bus, Culver City Bus, Torrance Transit and Santa Monica City Bus. Downtown LA No. 439 freeway express Mon-Fri from Bay 11 between 5:11 am & 10:59 pm. Operates roughly every 30 min except late at night. Fare $1.85. Line 42 operates between 5:34 am and 11:20 pm at least every hour and more frequently at busy times. Fare $1.35. 45-50 min to downtown. MTA Metro Green Line (El Segundo to Norwalk) connects with the Blue Line to Long Beach and the Red Line to Union Station. In July, 2003, new Gold Line is scheduled to open from Union Station to Pasadena.
